Hi everyone,
while trying to install Jet Express in an 64 Bit Environment (Win 7 and Office 2010 both x64), i get the following error message:
"Error '-3'. File not Found."
Any suggestions?
Kind Regards,

Have you downloaded the Jet Express installation file to the local computer and are running the install from there? (not from the web or from a network drive).

Jet Reports Historic Posts The admin at the customer location was starting the setup said that it was started from a local drive - the desktop specifically.
Any other suggestions? -

Please try installing the latest version, Jet Express 2012 R2.
Also, if the there is an older version of Jet Express installed on the machine, it is a possibility that the error is occurring as a result of uninstalling that old version. If that is the case, you could try running the installer for that prior version first and, if it succeeds, then again try with 2012 R2.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hello,
we've made sure that no version of Jet Express was installed prior to our attempt, but we couldn't find any "older" version of the installer on your web site.
This time, we've tried redownloading the setup file and running it from the local hard drive (c:) - but the error message remains the same.
Any advice?

Please run the Jet Express setup program from a CMD prompt with the /debuglog parameter.
This will create a log file ("installshield.log") located in the same directory as the setup program.
Once you have that, please upload that file as an attachment here.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi HP,
I attached the installshield.log that was created during the setup to this post. -

There appears to be an issue with the Windows Installer itself.
Is this occurring on only one system or multiple? Have you tried installing on another system?

Jet Reports Historic Posts This error appears on one particular system.
I had no trouble installing the software on another system at the customer site.
How can we resolve this issue with the microsoft installer? -
Jet Reports Historic Posts Hello Marvin:
You may be able to repair the Windows Installer by using Microsoft Fix It: http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/
If not, you may be able to re-install Windows Install by following the instructions provided here –> http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind … cd387d2604

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi,
after following the advice in the links you provided (re-registering the Windows installer, checking the registry, etc.) the Installation still fails with the same error.
What is our next step?

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hello Marvin -
This could be an issue installing Microsoft's .NET Framework – please try installing .NET Framework 4.0 manually before installing Jet Express.
The installer for .NET 4 can be found here –> http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download … x?id=17851
Also, you may want to check the systems Event Log (Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Event Viewer) in case it contains more details about the error.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Reinstalling the .NET Framewerk resolved this issue.
Thank you very much! -
