Hello,
I wanted to thank you for sharing the set up guide for Jet Express for NAV with MS Dynamics NAV 2013 to fix the NAV license file problem. We (IT and NAV's team) followed the guidance from page 1 to page 6. When we were on page 6, the company and Jet code unit fields were not pulling any value. These fields were empty so we had to type in the company name and Jet code unit and click Test connection. After we click test connection, we got an error saying:
the URL 'http://servername:7047/instance/WS/SystemService' is not valid. The following error was reported:
The remote server returned an error: (401) unauthorized.
What does it mean when it said the remote server returned an error (401) unauthorized? and how do we do to fix this error?
thanks!

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hello Vida,
Generally we see the following resolve this issue.
1) Utilize the IP address rather than the server name in your Data Source Settings.
If that does not resolve the issue then follow these instructions:
1) Take the exact URL which is presented in the error message and enter it into Internet Explorer (not Firefox or Chrome).
http://servername:7047/instance/WS/SystemService
2) You should be presented with a credential box, enter the user's credentials and click "Remember my credentials".
3) If you receive the correct XML back in the browser then close and reopen Excel.
4) Attempt to connect again with the server name.
5) If you are still unable to connect then their may be a DNS or Web Service issue at play.
