Jet Reports Historic Posts I want to get one of these for my commute…

Jet Reports Historic Posts I drive that flashy Saturn everyone is oogling at. I know it is hard to keep your eyes off it - and it gets great gas mileage!

What Saturn do you drive? Sorry, I never considered a saturn as flashy  -
Jet Reports Historic Posts I have a red mazda 3. Fun, sporty and great gas mileage. let me know if you want a ride around our compound.
Offer good Mon-Fri only. -
Jet Reports Historic Posts A metallic silver grey Opel Zafira. Not that flashy nor fast, but a very practical family car :)

Jet Reports Historic Posts I drive a white Trail Blazer that is currently missing a grill. A sheet of plywood flew off the back of a trailer (in the pouring rain so I'm not exactly sure if it was that trailer) and smashed over the front of my hood and grill. So it's a little bit banged up right now

The Fisker Karma… and a little info on it…
Hybrids are the rage at this year's Detroit Auto Show. Center stage then is the $80,000 Fisker Automotive plug-in hybrid set for delivery in 2009. California-based Fisker is the namesake of Danish-born Henrik Fisker, CEO and former BMW and Aston Martin designer. The Fisker Karma (pictured), can go up to 50 miles before the gas engine kicks in to charge the lithium-ion batteries. It features a 150mph top speed capable of reaching 60mph from a standstill in 5.8 seconds. Sharing the stage with Fisker is AFS Trinity Power Corporation and their 150mpg plug-in hybrid XH-150 SUV – that "XH" stands for Extreme Hybrid. Unlike traditional hybrids, the XH-150's powertrain uses ultra-capacitors, not gas, for "fast" acceleration. The XH-150 goes from 0 to 60 in 6.9 seconds with a top highway speed of just 87mph. Instead of bringing the XH-150 to market, however, AFS Trinity is more focused on licensing their ultra-capacitor technology. Good idea too, after checking the ho-hum XH-150 just beyond the break.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Wow Amy, that's kind of expensive. Hybrids are sooooo bad on the environment. All the green heads are going to be wearing frownie faces :( when those batteries start piling up at the auto wreckers then onto the landfills and seep into the ground water and 3 arm babies become the norm.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Wow amyjet, that's a lot of car

Jet Reports Historic Posts Three armed Babies!?
That would be an awesome movie! Set in post green America where, due to eco-friendly car batteries seeping into groundwater (thanks Jordan) and soy protein beverages - birth defects are on the rise.
Here's the kicker for the plot..
The birth defects not only mutate, but enhance one or more of our five senses.
People begin to take advantage and embrace these defects.
Mutations begin to rise.
And… As this tainted groundwater seeps into every aspect of our lives (agriculture, etc) cows become the most intelligent beings on the planet, and thirst for human milk. -
Jet Reports Historic Posts I have to admit the Saturn is NOT flashy - but if I say that it is, it makes me feel a little better about driving it. :D
And wow did this topic go astray…. 3 armed babies and smart cows! What is this world coming to?!?! -
Jet Reports Historic Posts It's all in the wake of the Hybrid movement. I drove one of those Prius thingys this last weekend and I felt dirty after getting out of it. Beside I barely fit in it and my rockstar hair was dragging across the roof :(

Jet Reports Historic Posts I suppose unless you opt to purchase a bicycle made in the US by non-immigrant workers over the age of 16 you are doomed to torture the environment or people in some way and send all our money overseas thereby further perpetuating the demise of this country and world.. What IS this world coming to?
maybe I can just save the rest of the world and eat the batteries after I use them up and only cause myself to grow extra limbs. Then I wouldn't need a car or a bike cuz I could go faster with extra limbs! -
Jet Reports Historic Posts A grandma car (Mercury Grand Marquis).. my friend called it The Prom Car and the name stuck.. :D

Jet Reports Historic Posts I just downsized to a Honda CRV from a Chevy Tahoe. First tank of gas 25MPH. :D

Hows that for mpg
What edition? -
Jet Reports Historic Posts Jan,
i don't quite get what you mean by "MPG"
my edition is 2007 model Japan domestic model.
by the way, i'm from Singapore and the cars here are mostly from Japan or Korea. -
Jet Reports Historic Posts mpg = miles per gallon
(fuel economy)
Or liter/100km… -
Jet Reports Historic Posts hahaha… i see…
in Singapore, we go by km and liters
if you drive the car like a racer, then it will be 8km/l
if you drive the car easy, it will be around 10-12km/l
for me, my average is 10.5km/l
my car ia AWD(All wheel drive) so fuel consumption is greater but then the handling at corners is great. i manage to do corners at 75km on a wet surface and the car did not swerve away. *** dangerous act and i was too gung-ho*** -
Jet Reports Historic Posts Volvo 440. Kept me safe, kept me alive, keeps on going and going! 230.000+ km and as far as I'm concerned not even halfway…
My kind of car, my car! -

Jet Reports Historic Posts I just traded in my 1975 Volkswagen Type 1 this past spring for a 2007 Beetle. It is nice to have A/C and real HEAT this time of year. It was 8 degrees this morning, but I was nice a toasty warm in my car.
