Really new to Jet within Business Central but we are trying to prepare a grouped list from our dimensions and have no idea how to do this. Our Dimension is called Cost Codes - Image below of our structure. We want to pull these dimensions out grouped within Excel as it looks here within the system. Is this possible?
There is a field on the G/L Account table called Indentation that is just a whole number. Then use the Excel function REPT to insert a space(s) based on that number. I did a Indentation value times 2:
Thanks Bryan - not quite what I meant. Attached is an example of what I was hoping for - i want to group by indent basically and be able to pull out the cost at "Standard" whilst the begin or end totals are sums. I thought this would be relatively easy to pull out in Jet given its a relatively standard nested Dimension structure
You would probably have to do some sort of grouping report where the primary group is accounts with Indent=0, then a secondary group where Indent=1, a tertiary where Indent=2 (or whatever you need the grouping to be.
But this may prove to be more difficult since some Begin-totals are 1, some are 2, some are 3 so you will need to modify my suggestion to fit your need.
You may even want to look at the Totaling field in the G/L Account table to see if you can leverage that in some manner.
