Error: You do not have permission to run the 'Jet Adapter Setup' Report


The information in this article applies only to NAV versions 4.0SP1 through 2009R2
The information in this article is applicable to Dynamics NAV partners.

If you are an end user, please contact your Dynamics NAV partner to have your NAV license updated.

 

Symptom

Before installing the Jet Data Manager for Dynamics NAV an adapter must be run.  This "NAV adapter" allows for the proper synchronization between the Jet Data Manager and the NAV database.  When a user attempts to run this NAV adapter they may receive the following error message:

You do not have permission to run the 'Jet Adapter Setup' Report.  Contact your system administrator to have your permissions changed.

Cause:

This error message appears because the user's NAV license does not have permissions to run objects in the required range.

Resolution

Jet Global has a granule that can be added to your NAV license.  The process to obtain this granule is detailed below.

  1. The NAV partner should email their VOICE ID to the following email address: orders@jetglobal.com

    In the email include a request stating that you would like to be added as a VOICE reseller for the Module ID and the Module Name found below:

  2. Our licensing team will notify you once your VOICE ID has been added as a reseller to our account.

  3. Log in to your VOICE account and add the Module shown above to the client's NAV license.  Generate the license and send the updated license to the NAV client.
