After installing the Jet Excel add-in, the Jet ribbon is not available within Excel:
Cause
Something prevented the Jet add-in from being enabled during installation.
Resolution
The Jet add-in must be enabled before it can be used within Excel. There are several ways to accomplish this:

Use the Enable Jet Add-in utility in the Jet Reports program available from the Windows Start Menu:

Start Excel by using the Jet Reports Desktop app:
this automatically enables the Jet add-in prior to launching Excel
