NAV License Files (NAV 2009R2 and earlier)

To use the Jet Reports Excel add-in with Dynamics NAV 2009R2 or earlier, a Dynamics NAV License file with the C/Front granule must be saved as Fin.FLF in the NAV Client program folder.

This is the same folder in which you find the Fin.EXE file. You must copy the NAV License file to each workstation that will run the Jet Excel add-in.  This is a requirement of Microsoft NAV C/Front, which the Jet Excel add-in uses to connect to those versions of NAV.  If you do not copy the NAV Fin.FLF license file to each machine, the Jet Excel add-in will not be able to connect to the database even if the NAV Client works correctly.

The Jet Reports Activation Wizard will look for a NAV license file in the NAV Client program folder.  If it doesn't find one, it will prompt you to supply it.  If you choose not to supply it, please be aware that you will have to copy it manually later.
