How to determine whether you have 32-bit or 64-bit Excel

Overview

The Jet Reports installation program will generally be able to determine whether you have a 32-bit or 64-bit installation of Microsoft Office. This "bit-level" for the Jet Excel add-in must match the bit-level of Microsoft Excel.

If you are using the Jet Reports MSI installer for an older version of Jet, you will need to know the bit-level of your installation.

This article discusses how to find what edition of Microsoft Excel you are using.

Gathering Information

  1. Excel 2013-2016

    Select the File tab from the Excel ribbon and then select Account > About Excel.

    The version and bit-level of Excel will be displayed in the top line of the window:

  2. Excel 2010

    Select the File tab from the Excel ribbon and then select Help

    Your version and bit-level of Excel will appear under About Microsoft Excel.

  3. Excel 2007

    Excel 2007 is 32-bit
