To help users identify and correct potential errors more quickly when scheduling and distributing batch reports, Jet Reports has added the ability to send a user an email indicating an error has occurred with a report. This can be found in the Schedule Task window on the Email Tab. (3302)
When a new BC Cloud connection is created, the page size (MB) setting will now default to 1 instead of .1. This will improve performance for large reports that take advantage of batch execution. This change will not affect cloud connections that already exist. (2786)

New Connector for Jet Reports into Microsoft Business Central In version 20.8. We are making available a new connector for Business Central, based on the OData API. This new connector is significantly faster than the existing SOAP connection. The new connector installs in minutes, requiring the installation of an extension to Business Central. You can access the new OData connector through our Early Adopter Program until we release the next version of Jet Reports in Q1, 2021. Jet partners and customers interested in using the new connector should contact insightsoftware support and request access to the installer for the extension. The new connector is available for users of Jet 20.8 and Business Central 16 and above. At the end of the Early Adopter Program, we plan to publish the extension through Microsoft AppSource. Additionally, we have validated this version of Jet Reports against Business Central, 2020 Wave 2.

Enhanced query handling for Business Central

Microsoft has implemented new API limits for Business Central customers to ensure that no single client can consume too many resources and become a "noisy neighbor." For Jet Reports users, this change could cause some larger queries to time out and return an error message.

To work with these new API limits, Version 20.5 introduces a query orchestrator to smooth out query requests, verify that results have been returned, and handle any timeouts and retries as necessary.

The query orchestrator can identify longer queries that may time out, and it breaks these up into a series of smaller queries to run individually. It then smartly and seamlessly blends the results into a single dataset for display, so end-users can continue to refresh their reports without interruption.

Support for Business Central multi-tenant environments

When customers deploy Business Central multi-tenant environments and define their credentials centrally, they can now select which tenant they want to authenticate against when using Jet Reports. This enables customers to:

Switch between tenants, so they arer no longer limited to the default tenant in which their central credentials were defined.
Switch between production environments, so they are no longer limited to their default environment.

Jet Budgets Performance Improvements	The objective of this feature is to improve the user experience when using Jet Budgets by reducing the bottleneck situations that may cause a degradation of performance. Jet Budgets Usability Improvements	Based on feedback, several interface and functionality improvements have been made to help Jet Budgets users get the most from their Budget process. Copying a budget now includes e-mail reminders and the ability to add new dimensions. Saving and submitting numbers for approval can now be done from Excel. Formulas can now be saved when using Excel Online for data entry. Configuring reminders is now more intuitive, and zeros and blanks are no longer preserved in budget entries.

Context Sensitive (right-click) Menus	The Jet Web Portal now features right-click menus that reflect the same options available on the action panel.
Easier Scheduling	In the Jet Web Portal, scheduled tasks can be created directly form the Reports List by selecting the desired report(s), and then either selecting Schedule from the action pane or right-clicking and selecting Schedule from the context menu.
Options for Opening Reports	To help everyone understand how to open reports in the Jet Web Portal, once you select one or more reports and click Open you will be prompted to decide if you want to open the reports with Excel Online or want to download the report and open it with an installed version of Excel.
Timeout Feature	When the Jet Web Portal has been left inactive for 20 minutes, a 60-second reminder will be displayed asking if you wish to stay logged in. If no response is received, you will be logged out. When you log back in, you will be taken directly to the screen you were on when your session timed out.
Support for More Jet Features	In Jet 2018, the Jet Web Portal supports Dashboard mode as well as the NL(Picture) and NP(Slicer) functions.
