When refreshing reports with the Jet Excel Add-In, some installations of Microsoft Excel can experience slow performance, crashes, and memory issues. Generally when this occurs without having changed anything in your Jet Reports environment there may be an issue with the latest Current channel update for Microsoft Office 365.
It is easy to adjust the update channel used by your Microsoft Office 365 subscription and install the latest corresponding update to see if the issues are related to update channel you were using.

Start a Command Prompt window (as Administrator)
Change to the folder where Microsoft Office 365 stores its support files:
cd C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun
Switch Office 365 to the Semi-Annual ("Broad") channel:
OfficeC2RClient.exe /changesetting Channel=Broad
Note: To change back to the Current ("Monthly") channel:
OfficeC2RClient.exe /changesetting Channel=Monthly
Update the installation of Microsoft Office 365:
OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user
