Change Log Field Captio

Hello All,

I am trying to run a report on jetreports table builder to bring all the change log data onto a table. When you look at the change log on BC, it has the headers 'Field Caption', and 'Table Caption'. Yet when I go to jetreports these two headers are not available to use. Instead, I only have the option of 'Field No.' and 'Table No.'.

I can create a workaround for the table number, by using a lookup in the table to bring back the correct name, but for the 'Field Caption', I cannot find anywhere that shows me what header matched to what 'Field No.'. 

If anyone could help that would be really appreciated!

  You can leverage the Jet Browser for this.  Navigate to the table with the field, highlight the field, and then click on Show Details.  This will provide you information about the field including the number.

  Hello BobRoss,

  Thank you so much for your reply, and for taking the time to help me. By using the Jet Browser, will this allow me to add the field caption into an excel report? From what I can see, the Jet Browser shows me the number, name and type, but doesn't provide a reference table to add this onto the report so it shows?

  Hello Sam,

  same problem here. :-/

  My approach is to make an extra sheet with the data from the tables I need and reference to that sheet. Not fine but the best I can think of.

  Which version of BC do you run?

  Hello cat,

  Glad I am not the only one that has gotten stuck on this! Currently we use version 21.2.

  Using the extra sheet seems to work for getting that table name, but I can't find a reference table for the 'Field Caption'. Have you managed to do this? If so, may I ask where you have found that reference table? I am sure it's somewhere, but I just can't seem to match them up.

  you can run the fields table with just adding /?table=2000000041 to your url.

  There's also a table for the objects. I found it here:

  That's fantastic, you have solved it! I have had to do much the same as you, create a seperate sheet and run a formula to match it. Seems to work for now!
