Hi,
I am trying to create a cost report which takes information from our job ledger entries, sums it and just shows the totals. I have got this to work with no problems. However, I need to show several date ranges on the same sheet - for example, the sum for just this month, the year to date, and the total to date. I tried to create three completely independent Navision Links, but that doesn't work - for every line in the first sum, it returns every line in the second - the results is that where before I had 5 lines, I now have 25 lines, most of which are rubbish.
Is there anyway of keeping the two compeltely separate? - I realise it wil be tricky with hiding rows and things.
Thanks,
Teresa

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hey Teresa,
Welcome to our new site.
I'm not sure that I understand what you are trying to do, but let me see what I can come up with.
First, it sounds like you have 3 NL("Rows") on the same row of your report. Having multiple NL("Rows") on one row is often a problem and should be avoided whenever possible. Instead you only want one NL("Rows") and serveral NL("Sum"), one for each period you want to report on.
Let's start with the first column, you don't say what you are totaling, but I'm going to assume you are reporting by Job, So cell C3 would have a formula like =NL("Rows","Jobs","No.") with any addtional filters you may need. Then you add 3 NL("Sums") to the next columns.
D3 =NL("Sum","Job Ledger Entry","Amount","Job No.",C3,"Posting Date",CellReftoMonthDateFilter)
E3 =NL("Sum","Job Ledger Entry","Amount","Job No.",C3,"Posting Date",CellReftoYearToDateFilter)
F3 =NL("Sum","Job Ledger Entry","Amount","Job No.",C3)
You would need to change CellReftoMonthDateFilter and CellReftoYearToDateFilter to a Cell that contains your date filters.
Does this help? -
Jet Reports Historic Posts I have to say that I am very impressed with your new site, and your swift response. Apologies for being unclear - I was trying not to get bogged down in specifics and totally lost the point - however your interpretation was correct.
Your answer was very helpful - not only does it work properly, but it runs about 30 times faster.
I was wondering if there is any documentation available? I went on a 2 day course, and the trainer gave me some notes he had written. However, it would probably save everyone time if there was some kind of reference guide I could look at - then I'd only have to bother you lovely people for the really sticky problems!
Thanks,

Jet Reports Historic Posts There are a couple of resources available. The first is the Help system within Jet Reports itself. Within Excel, click on Jet, Help. This help system is completely searchable and has many examples. Another is at http://support.jetreports.com. You have to register to be able to use this site, plus have a valid Jet Reports License. You will find additional information in the Knowledge Base area.
Finally, if you are on version 7 of Jet Reports, there are some good example reports available. Take a look at the program directory for Jet Reports at c:\program files\jetreports\reports\
