Does Jet Reports have any plans to have a User Seminar / Conference in the future? I think networking with other Jet users in person would be very benefitial to my use of Jet Reports. Not to mention Seminar training and such would be invaluable to myself and my organization. I literally just added Jet this week and any additional time with other users would be great. (Yes we had onsite level 1 designer training)
Thank you for your time.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi BCrabree,
A conference is something we may be able to do for US based Jet Reports users. Do you have any suggestions for topics, location, venue, number of days, etc? How far would you be willing to travel for the conference, do you think your company would be willing to pay for your attendence, should this be an event that takes place over the weekend? The better you can define what you would be looking for in a conference/meeting, the easier it will be for us to consider the request and propose to other Jet Reports users.

Jet Reports Historic Posts I feel that this online community is a great baseline for a conference agenda over all. It has all the aspects users and designers like. An in person networking opportunity would be an added benefit to the use of this board. Face to face discussions with others with similar problems are usually easier to hash out with quick results. Online is nice but waiting for responses and the hit and miss success can be a little frustrating.
I have attended other system conferences in the past and they usually contain the following and more but these are some highlights I remember:
(For reference Oracle was the conference offered I attended most often.)
* Future development of the product.
* Specific user demos and training, for example how AP, AR, Inventory, HR, etc. typically use the products. This normally included subject matter expert discussions and brain storming on how to create reports and such.
* How companies are using the product from a management and designer perspective.
* Best practices on the product, for example how report design requests are best communicated to the designers. How different aspects of the program can help management.
* How to training sessions with program / report design experts.
As for location I am on the West coast so of course I would prefer this side of the US but honestly I would suggest the middle of the US. This would provide a central location for all people interested in attending and split the travel cost in half. Texas would be a good middle ground with temperate weather and cities able to accommodate a conference big or small.
I have traveled as far as Florida and Philadelphia from NV to attend conferences. As for my corporation paying to attend, if the conference was worth the effort and cost based on the agenda and networking opportunities I feel strongly that they would very likely send one or two of the Designers and possibly a couple managers.
Conferences fall in line with our effort to continue the education of our employees and the development of best practices within the organization using existing and new software products. The better a company gets to know a system / program partner, the easier continued development and usage of the product is for employees and managers.
As for a weekend seminar management would love that…The employees that would attend are all salaried employees so from a business perspective weekend seminars are great, it would not disrupt day to day operations to attend and the payroll costs would not increase.
I am happy to provide any additional information regarding this topic and thank you for the follow-up it is appreciated.
