Hi!
I've tried to search the forum for this but without any luck… My simple question is, how do I save a Table Builder configuration? Lets say I am using the table builder for mergin several tables from NAV and lateron I would like to load the configuration and change some values.
The option for saving the Table is greyed out (when in table builder mode). What am I doing wrong here? And even if I would be able to save the table, how do I edit fields, add more filters etc after the table once has been created?
Thanks for your help!

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi,
The Table Builder itself has a File menu with Save, Save As, and Open options. The save option should be available as soon as you add a table in the Table Builder. Also, when you click OK in Table Builder, it prompts you if you haven't saved to save your work as a Table Builder template. If you save the template, then the next time you open the Table Builder, you can select File -> Open and open the template you saved. Does this make sense?

Jet Reports Historic Posts The save template feature is only available with Jet Essentials (not Jet Express). This might be the cause.

Thanks for your answer! It seems like the problem is probably like SJL4782 says, it is all about the Express… I tried to save the template after adding a table, but still the option is greyed out and the table builder does not prompt me to save on close.
So, if I understand this right. This means, with using the Express version you are not able to load an earlier table configuration and change values, add fields etc? The only solution to this is to re-build the whole solution from scratch if you would like to, for example add an extra field or filter?
Thanks for your replies guys! -
Jet Reports Historic Posts Aaah yes that is true. If you want to add extra fields, filters, etc. within the Table Builder tool you must have Jet Essentials. You can, of course, add fields, filters, etc. within Excel. The beauty of Jet is that it's all Excel functions, so you can easily edit those functions to do the things you need. It may take you a little more time to understand how the actual functions work, but that approach will probably pay off in the end since you won't be relying completely on tools like the Table Builder.

Peggy Aitken The SAVE option used to be available with the earlier version of Jet Express. However when I upgraded to the latest version it went away. Did they really remove that feature in Jet Express???

Harry Lewis Hello Peggy -
The save/open functionality was accidentally included in an earlier version. Here is a link to the Jet Basics forum conversation.
