Hi Miguel,
I'm really not sure what is going wrong for you there. Jet is compatible with Windows 8.1. If you do have the 64-bit version of Office, then the 64-bit version of Jet should be the correct version to install. I would create a support ticket with Jet Reports Support. Then someone can look at your specific situation more closely and help you.
Regards,
Hughes

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hello,
First of all I don't know if it's the right place to put this question, if isn't, please move the post to the correct section. Thanks.
We are trying to install Jet Essential (x64) on a Windows 8.1 (updated) with Office 2013 both x64, but is always giving an error:
"The platform of the Jet installation is not supported. Make sure that the target platform's install mode (x86 or x64) is compatible with the installed version of Microsoft Excel"
Can you help?
Is it because of the Windows 8.1 version?
Thanks in advance
Best Regards,

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
We figured out after checking the registry and seeing that the problem was about the version of the key that was there. We had the Office 2013 (v15) but the key of the Outlook that was there was the version 14.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi Miguel, what exactly did you do to correct this, I am having the same problem with a client.
They are using Windows 8.1 and office 2013 (32bit).
Trying to istall Jet Essentials 2013 v14.0.13337.0 (32-bit)
Getting error about incorrect platform.
I have also tried installing the 64bit and got the same error?! -
Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi. I too am receiving error about incorrect platform.
I am using Windows 8.1 64-bit OS and office 2007 (32bit).
Trying to install Jet Essentials 2013 v14.0.13337.0 (32-bit) and when that didn't work I tried using the 64-bit install file.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi,
I specifically joined as I was having the same issue and found the fix.
"We figured out after checking the registry and seeing that the problem was about the version of the key that was there. We had the Office 2013 (v15) but the key of the Outlook that was there was the version 14"
The fix if this is your exact problem is to go into the registry (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\) and then go into your 14.0 key, and rename 'Outlook' to 'Outlook.old'. Now go into the 15.0 folder and create a new key called 'Outlook' in here you will need to create a new string value, with the value data being the version of your office x86 or x64. You can find your version of Office 2013 by opening up Word, going to file then account and click on about. In here it will tell you whether or not you are 32 or 64. And there we have it, run your version of the installer and all is well!!
Hope this helps some of you :D
