How can I get the historic cost price based on a date filter

In MD Nav there is a report: "Inventory - Sales Statistics" based on the date filter it returns the margin on a product. I want to replicate this report in Jet but somehow the cost price doesn't work with a date filter.
How can I get the historic cost price based on a date filter in Jet?
