Hi there,
We are currently implementing Microsoft CRM 2013 online in our organisation with NAV integration build in it. In crm we have integrated some NAV data like sales orders, invoices and customer card integrations.
Our account managers are working with iPad on the go, to interact with CRM and our customers. The account managers came to me, because they need more information about the customer transactions.
I would like to bridge the gap between CRM where whe store standalone customer data and NAV, where al the transactions happen. I looked into the Jet reports Dashboards functionality with the Excel sliders and it seems to be an very good solution to my problem because i can make very simple dashboards, so my collegues can easily do Business Discovery (scan through data and look for the information that answers there business questions).
Ok, a good solution, but i want it on Ipad! I know Jet has Jet Mobile, but that's only for Enterprise users and we have Essentials. So i took an Ipad and did some test with pivot tables and slicers in the new Microsoft office for iPad. Slicers functionality is in there, but the Jet dashboard function (the slicer function in the NP) is not there already. Actually, the slicers also work without the NP Slicer functionality, but then I have to load al the data in an Data sheet and make a pivot table of it. The problem is, if we want to analyze several years, the excel sheets will be very big, what can effect the performance.
My question is, is there anyone who has some experience with this kind of problem and has a nice solution to it? Maybe there a some bright ideas i could'nt think of :D
Thanks in advance.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi.
The problem with this configuration is that there is no connection to your data set. It sounds like you are using Jet to create a table, saving the file to the cloud and then opening the document on the iPad. Then using pivot chart filters and slicers you are able to explore the data. This will work, but if you want any new data then you would have to somehow get it from the database again. You could schedule a report that runs and saves in the cloud that users can access. I could see this file quickly growing depending on how much data is being reported against.
The Jet Enterprise product uses OLAP cubes and a data warehouse. These allow for very quick queries and for updated data.
Unfortunately, I think the only way your users are going to be able to have live reporting on multiple years of data using iPads is to use Jet Mobile. I know that the cost can be high implementing this for just this one function, but the benefits of having the Data Warehouse that you can manipulate and create custom projects in outweighed the cost/benefit for my company and we successfully implemented this a while ago.
