How do I use Sales Amount LY, Sales Amount YTD LY, Sales Amount YTD, etc. These fields don't seem to have any values?

  Use the date formulas in excel to get ytd and lytd dates and then use jet formulas NL or GL sum etc depending on the tables to report from.
  
  Best way is to look at the sample reports from jet reports library
