About Jet Express for Excel
Jet Express for Excel for Excel was developed as a collaboration between Microsoft and Jet Reports to provide Microsoft Dynamics® NAV and GP customers additional value through improved ad-hoc Reporting and Analysis in Microsoft Excel®. Jet Express for Excel was initially released with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2, is currently released with Microsoft Dynamics NAV , available for Microsoft Dynamics GP, and is planned to be released with future versions for Microsoft Dynamics NAV and be available for future versions of Microsoft Dynamics GP.
Our ambitions for Jet Express for Excel extend well into the future. As Microsoft adds new features to Dynamics NAV and GP, Jet Express for Excel will be updated to take advantage of those features that will provide additional reporting benefits.

Where do I get the latest Jet Business Objects for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013-2017 Web Services?
Currently a small set of business objects must be imported into Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013-2017 to enable communication with Jet Express for Excel or Jet Professional. These business objects only need to be installed once for a database.

How do I configure a Microsoft Dynamics NAV SQL data source in Jet Express for Excel?
The Microsoft Dynamics NAV SQL direct data source included with Jet Express for Excel 2015 Update 1 and higher can provide substantially faster reporting access to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 and higher than is typically available with other connection types.

Using Jet Express for Excel with Citrix
In order to use Jet Express for Excel with Citrix, the following guidelines apply.
• Publish the entire desktop (we do not support using Jet Express for Excel with Citrix if the entire desktop is not published)
If using Jet Express for Excel for Dynamics NAV:
• If using NAV 2009R2 or earlier, Jet Express for Excel for NAV, Excel, the NAV Classic Client and corresponding NAV SDK must be installed on the Citrix desktop.
• If using NAV 2013 or later, Jet Express for Excel for NAV, Excel, and the NAV Client must be installed on the Citrix desktop.
• Regardless of how you decide to configure Jet Express for Excel, the Excel options and Jet Express for Excel options are stored on a per-user basis. This means that each user will have to run "Enable" from the Start Menu to get access to Jet Express for Excel in Excel. It also means that your database security will be maintained since each user's credentials are stored separately.

How many databases can I connect to using Jet Express for Excel?
Jet Express for Excel for Microsoft Dynamics NAV allows you to connect and write reports from 1 Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 (or higher) database.
Jet Express for Excel for Microsoft Dynamics GP allows you to connect and write reports from 1 Microsoft Dynamics GP v9 (or higher) database.
If you have multiple databases you may wish to upgrade to Jet Enterprise or Jet Professional.
Can I design my own reports using Jet Express for Excel?
All Jet Express for Excel users have the ability to design their own reports as well as run Jet Express for Excel reports others have created.
How do I get training for Jet Express for Excel?

Do I need a license to use Jet Express for Excel?
In order to use Jet Express for Excel with Dynamics NAV you need to be running Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 or later and be current on your Business Ready Enhancement Plan (BREP). No extra licensing is required for either Jet Express for Excel for Dynamics NAV or Jet Express for Excel for Dynamics GP.
