I am using an IF formula to Show or Hide the field but no matter what I use for the logical test, if no picture appears I cant get the field to hide. The field doesn't appear to show as blank if there is no image.

Unfortunately, Excel does not provide a built-in method of testing whether or not a cell is displaying an image.
If your database table includes a field that indicates whether or not an image is present in the record, you could base your show/hide on that field.
