Issue with batch function execution

Hello,

I have a report that when I run it with batch function execution enabled, it finishes almost immediately with all cells showing #VALUE!

Support advised me previously of two things;

1. add "@@"& to NL functions that reference filters that may be in error to prevent the batch from failing

2. turn off BFE, run the report and search for cells in error.

In this particular instance, the former doesn't seem to help, and when doing the latter, I cannot find any cells in error.

I have a ticket open with support but this is currently on hold as our support is undergoing renewal, so I was wondering if anyone might have any advice for me in the meantime on how to go about diagnosing and fixing?

Hi James -

Batch Function Execution can help large reports run substantially faster (the Jet Excel add-in examines the entire report as the first step of running it and then attempts to optimize the amount of queries that have to be sent to your data source to get information). If the report runs successfully when not using this feature, you have found your own workaround. If your organization decides to renew its ability to obtain support, you would want to provide the report for analysis.

Hi Harry,

Yes indeed, that's why we would love to keep it turned on permanently for all users. Yes workaround seems effective, but does mean the report takes about 40 minutes to run.

I think our renewal is just about completed, so will go back to Jet support, as I can see no reason for this report to currently fail with BFE enabled.
