Good day.
I am able to connect via the Excel Data Source when I am connecting as a domain admin.
I am getting the error 401 when I connect as a user.
Thoughts on where I need to look at permissions?
I am using user name authentication. Jet Express 14.1.14226.0
Thanks, Heidi

Jet Reports Historic Posts The first time I tried IP, it didn't work.
Tested a second time and it did.
thanks anyway. -
Jet Reports Historic Posts Well, it works from my computer but not the clients.
Her configuration is the same as mine.
I can connect as a domain admin on her machine (thus not firewall).
She is a power user on all companies.
Again any suggestions would be welcome. -
Jet Reports Historic Posts Hello Heidi,
How do you have the instance service Login Account configured?
Using Network Service or a specific domain account?
There are a myriad of settings that you must configure to utilize UserName Authentication with Jet and Microsoft Dynamics 2013.
I have attached an article that references these settings.
Generally a way to test and take Jet out of the picture is to take the same URL that you are receiving in the error and enter it into Internet Explorer (not Chrome or Firefox).
Make sure you select the "Remember my credentials" box.
Enter the credentials and see if you get the correct XML returned.
Once you receive the correct XML in Internet Explorer then Jet should connect.
