DD.MM.YYYY and NP(Datefilter)

If I were to enter my date format as DD.MM.YYYY

The NP(datefilter) function will come out as in the attachement

Now the funny part is after I have changed the date format to
DD/MM/YYYY, NP() will works normally and changing back to DD.MM.YYYY
again, everything works now.

Solution:

Go to Regional Settings in the control panel.

Then change the short date format to DD.MM/.YYY.
