Hi there,
maybe a stupid question, but however…:
i created a new datasource in Jet with "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server", to connect to an other sql-database. When "Testing the connection" i get a connect to the Database, I also see the tables and fields (bingo :) ).
But, when running a report i get a licence-error "you're not licenced for this database"…
But which or what licence do i need? And where do i have to save it (jet-reports-folder)?
?
thx for help
mike

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi Mike,
I'm assuming this means that you don't have a Universal connector license for Jet. Maybe you only have a NAV connector license, but have not purchased a Universal connector license. Is that correct?

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hello Hughes,
yes, that's right…i even haven't heard about a "Universal connector license" until now…
So, i think, that's the answer to my question… ;)

Jet Reports Historic Posts Mike,
So when you buy Jet you can buy multiple connectors. For each NAV license, you have to buy a NAV connector. If you want to use "universal" data sources (meaning things like SQL Server or anything else that uses a basic OLE or ODBC connection) you have to buy a universal connector for Jet. Then there are other connectors such as the GP connector and the cube connector. You should be able to purchase additional connectors through whatever channel you purchased Jet, usually either a Jet sales person or your NAV partner. I hope this helps!
Kind regards,
Hughes
