Hi,
I've watchted the coffee break webinars about pivot tables and slicers. Very nice ;)
http://www.jetreports.com/jet-enterprise/business-intelligence-webinars.php
I have created with Jet reports a tabel, add several pivot tables (see tabs DT1 .. DT5). In tab Dashboard I'have copied the pivot charts and several slicers.
Now I'd like to connect the slicers to all pivot tables/ charts (Slicer - Pivot Table Connections). If I select Pivot Table 3 to connect with, I get the message:
slicer cannot connect to pivot table.
Why can't I connect my slicers to all pivot tables and pivot charts?
I have Excel 2010 and Jet Essentials 2012
Kind regards,
Saskia

Jet Reports Historic Posts Official comment Hi Hughes,
I've put all the pivot tables in one sheet. Then I can connect the slicers to all the pivot tables. Problem solved..

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi Saskia,
As far as I can tell, this is just a limitation of Excel when using a table as a data source. Normally, if you are using an external data source to create pivot tables, you can hook a slicer up to multiple pivot tables as long as each of those pivot tables is using the same data source. Now all of your pivot tables are using the same Excel table as a data source, but it doesn't appear that Excel actually treats this the same as a single connection to an external data source (such as an OLAP cube). Thus Excel is not allowing you to connect the slicers to more than one pivot table. I'm not sure this is possible to get around. Let us know if you find a way, but as far as I can tell, this won't work.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi Hughes,
I have build this report with the Jet Browser. So the data source to create pivot tables should be Navision, right???
In the "coffe break session" of Jet reports they show how to use slices in pivot tables. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong here.
Why is my data connected to the Excel pivot table and wow can I connect the pivot tables to the same data source?
We use Jet Essentials v 12.
Kind regards,
Saskia
