As indicated in the below Knowledge Base article, Office 2016 is currently not on the list of supported Microsoft Office applications.
As such, the interaction between Office 2016 and Jet Essentials is unknown and might not work.
Please take a moment and review the below Knowledge Base article which outlines the System Requirements for Jet Reports/Jet Essentials:

Jet Reports Historic Posts I have installed Office 2016 preview on a Windows 8.1 laptop (64bit operating system, Microsoft Office 32-bit) and having difficulty now getting the Jet Essentials client to install.
The client is 32bit / x86 and on install I get the "The platform of the Jet installation is not compatible….." - complaining about target platform x86 or x64.
I have followed the suggestions (http://community.jetreports.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3185) - changing it to 16.0 rather than 15.0.
Can anyone come up with a suggestion?
