Dear,

When I run the scheduler, I have the following error on the log file : "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

Could you please help us on what should we do to fix this issue. THis is the first time and we didn-t change anything in our Jet batch file.

  There are a few things that can cause this type of disconnect between the Windows Task Scheduler and Microsoft Excel.

  Here are a few things to check:

  1. If the user (under whose login the task is attempting to run) does not have all the necessary rights to run scheduled tasks, this error can result.

  2. Ensure that that there is no non-Jet information in either column A or row 1 in the scheduled report(s).

  3. Using Windows Task Manager to ensure that there is no additional instance of Excel running.

  4. Ensure that there is no issue with settings files used by Jet Professional:

  • Make a note of your activation code

  

  • Close Excel completely.
  • Open Windows Explorer and type %Appdata% in the address bar
    
  • Open the Jet Reports subfolder. 
  • Delete the activation.token and the settings.xml files 
    
  • Open Excel and then reactivate Jet Professional with the activation code you noted earlier

  5. If none of the above apply, there could be an issue with Microsoft's .NET 4.5.1 and it needs to be uninstalled updated

  Hi Harry,

  thank you for your answer. i could fix the error in the system. when i open my excel file a pop up with link apperar each time. I broke the link  and since I could run this file with the scheduler.

  ticket can be closed.
