Stored Data in Reports cant get to work

Hi There

I have a basic Jet Report which is reporting actuals and budgets against General ledger account codes.  I am trying to add a column out to the far right which is a user commentary column where they can input a narrative against each row detailing the reason for any movement - but it disappears when I go between Design and Report mode.

I have looked at stored data but cant get it to work without getting an error message. I put in "Data'" in the column and all rows it says I need to add a Key - but I dont know where to add.

  First off, Stored User Data is one of the more difficult items to tackle and get working properly, especially if you have never done it before.  You can review this article: Introducing Stored User Data in Reports – Support Topics (jetglobal.com)

  You need to have both Key and Keyname in your report.  This is how Jet will identify where the stored Data will go. Keyname should go in column A.  Typically this is done on the row of your column headers (looks like row 6 for you) so I would put it A6.

  The Key keyword needs to go in row 1 in the column where the unique identifier will be.  As a best guess, I assume that GL Code represents the account number and should not have any duplicates in that column so I would suggest putting Key in C1.

  If you need more assistance, it might be good to work with a consultant to assist with implementing.
