I created the report below based on fixed asset ledger entries, but the figures aren't displayed initially. However, clicking the drill-down button reveals the figures. Here's the function I used to calculate additions during the period:
=NL("Sum", "FA Ledger Entry", "Amount", "Company=", $D$4, "FA No.", $C9, "FA Posting Type", "Acquisition Cost", "FA Posting Date", $D$6, "FA Posting Category", "@@")

Seem like a variation of the normal timeout issue (normally would show #VALUE and then appear when you hit Check Error). Might be helpful to reach out to Insightsoftware Support. They do not monitor this board.
For a machine we had this issue when we removed the tick mark for 'Enable cache tables for NAV/Business Central Web Services data source' in the App Settings for JET the report functioned as designed with the data presenting without clicking the drill down.

It is important to note that this should only be turned off for problem reports. Leaving it off full-time can have a negative affect the performance of other reports, forcing them to take longer to run.
Now I know why I was not able to find it - it is not there. ;-)

Cat, if you don't see that as an option, you must be on a very old version of Jet and may want to consider upgrading to a newer version. I would recommend installing a newer version on a secondary computer and try running the report. If it is solved, you know you should upgrade all the other machines. If it doesn't solve it, at least you would have the ability to turn off the batch function.
