Jet Professional Client Setup on o365 64bit

Hi,

We are installing the latest Jet Professional  Build 18.0.18060.4.

We have installed 64bit o365 as they were hitting memory issues previously on 32bit / Jet reporting.

RE-installing the Jet client - the "Jet Excel Add-In" option on Client install is not present:

 

We have tried uninstalling, re-installing, shutting down and ensuring that the "add-in" has not silently installed in the background.

But no enable option is available from excel or directory created on the drive that we can find.

Has anyone encountered this and resolved?

  Are you saying that the installer screen looks like this?

  

  On the system, please navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16...

  

   

  Find EXCEL.EXE, right-click it, and select properties:

  

  What does that screen look like?

  Hi John -

  The Jet Setup installer detects if a compatible version of Microsoft Excel is installed on the computer and only shows the 'Jet Excel Add-In' if it is detected properly.

  This indicates an issue with the installation of Microsoft Office on the computer.

  There are three potential solutions to this issue:

  1) Run a Repair (note for anyone using Office 365: *not* a 'quick repair') of Microsoft Office on the computer via the Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features menu and then test the installation again.

  2) Open Excel.  Then run Jet Setup.exe.  You will receive a warning that Excel is running.  Close Excel and then click Retry in the Jet installer.  Select Client Components and see if the Jet Excel Add-in is listed.  If it is, continue the installation.

  3) Run Jet Setup.exe.  Before proceeding, open Excel.  Within the Jet installer select Client Components.  If the Jet Excel Add-in is listed then close Excel and continue the installation.
