Navision Budget Dimension Code Reporting

Hi,

I am creating an Actual vs Budget report based on data already entered into the budgets module of Navision 2009 R2. I entered a budget dimension code for Cost Centre which is a Global Dimension we had already created.

 

In the excel report we are unable select the Budget Dimension Code when creating our Jet Actual VS Budget report. The Cost Centre Code mentioned in the image below is not the Budget Dimension Code Field in Navision.

Can somebody please help me with this?

  Hello Gavin -

  By default, the Jet GL() function for NAV can access the two Global Dimensions defined within NAV:

  (in my sample Cronus database, the Global Dimensions are Department and Project)

   

  If you need to use the "shortcut" (aka "advanced" dimensions) you can set up an Analysis View within NAV.  An Analysis View can accommodate up to four dimensions.  Any pre-defined Analysis View are then available through the GL function:

  

  and whatever dimensions were defined within that view can now be used as filters in your GL function:
