Hi All,

I have to make a report that is run on the 25th and last day of each month to pull information for a project. The report on the last day is to grab any entries made after the 25th, but entries can be posted with any date in the month. I am hoping to be able to eliminate the manual process of removing the information captured on the 25th of the month and was planning on using Excel's built in compare and merge function; however, it throws an error when used with jetreports. Is there an option to use this or a similar feature that will track changes between two versions of a report?

Example, I run a report on April 25th and save it as "April costs for project ####". I rerun the same report on April 30th and all new entries highlight yellow to show changes. Sort is by G/L entry number not on date, so if the first report is 100 lines and the second is 125 lines the last 25 lines are all new.

  Hello Taylor -

  If the table you are querying has some way to differentiate between entries made before and after 25th of the month, then it is a simple matter of designing the report to show these.

  If, however, the underlying data does not include that information, there is no way to draw it out in a report.

  The easiest method would be to run the report on the 25th.  Copy/paste just the resulting values (just the values, not the underlying Jet functions) to another sheet in the report. 

  

  Then, when you run the same report on the last day of the month, you can compare the new results with the former values.

  Hi Harry,

  Thanks for your reply. This is how I was planning on doing it if there was no function to build in. I've also considered adding an option on my options page where "G/L entry > ###" and I can enter the last entry number from the 25th report and have it spit out the results on a separate worksheet.

  Just looking to confirm there is no compare option in jetreports.
