I'm IT Support in my company and find that if I run a complex report that will slow down NAV user' posting. Now I find that I am using Direct NAV's SQL for jetreport's data source, will it be better to change it to use NAV web service ? Or any server setting can help it ? Is it silly to use Direct NAV's SQL database for jetreport clients ?

Malcolm Johnson One of those - No Easy Answer questions, it depends on the type of report and the amount of data being returned. Where the report returns long transaction listing SQL will give the best performance, other than that the Web Service may be as good.
I would suggest:
1. Looking at the report to see if the queries can be improved, looking at the keys or using flow fields can help
2. Try ruining the report against the Web Service
3. Schedule the report for out-of-hours execution
