I have been trying to establish a connection to my NAV sql server without any luck
I viewed the how to video but found no paths similar to what was presented. So I pointed them to what I am guessing to be the appriate paths.
NAV Client
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\RoleTailored Client
Language Module
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\RoleTailored Client\en-CA
When I try to connect to the SQL server I get no drop down for company name so I filled it in (shouldnt be the case)
When I try to connect I receive the following error
The required Dynamics NAV Client executable (finsql.exe) could not be found in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\RoleTailored Client'

Jet Reports Historic Posts Start the Classic client (if it's not installed, you'll want to take care of that first).
Check your Navision database information (File | Database | Information).
Make sure you Jet Express Data Source Settings (server, database, net type) exactly match the Navision database information.
The path for the NAV Client to where the Classic Client is installed.
Try not setting a path for the language module and choose "000 - Do not load a language module"
Are you able to establish the connection now? -
Jet Reports Historic Posts I receive a new error "A Dynamics NAV license cannot be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\Classic\'
I have also replicated exactly the settings in Classic client but still am unable to see comapny in the dropdown.
Thanks in advance for the help -
Jet Reports Historic Posts Make sure there is a copy of your Dynamics NAV license file in the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\Classic" and that the file is named FIN.FLF.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Got it Working
So basically the video on how to configure Jet Express is in correct. My paths on Win 7 x64 were
Dynamics Client Folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\Classic\
Language Module
Blank
Language
000
Making sure to have the license file
fin.flf located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\Classic\
Thank you for the help. -
Jet Reports Historic Posts Great job!
You can always change your settings for the language module once one exists (this is something that has to be exported from within NAV itself).
