I was told that Mircosoft has bundled a FRx reporting tool together with Nav 2009.
the FRx works like jet which retrieves data from Nav to Excel. The best part it is free in the bundle.
Anyone has worked with the FRx? any comments in terms of the pros and cons about FRx?
and of course how is Jet better that FRx?

Jet Reports Historic Posts As I had not of this before I googled on Frx and this is the first thing I find is this: https://community.dynamics.com/forums/p/1352/1591.aspx#1591
I didn't look further - it sounded like another great Microsoft product which is killed after a year or 2 (have you guys ever heard of Entrepeneur?).
Anyway, I cannot judge on the functionality of Frx but I trust Jet Reports fully when it comes to commitment to its product. I've been working with Jet for more than 6 years now and they've always invested in customer satisfaction by listening to their users carefully, continuous product improvement and great support. -
Jet Reports Historic Posts As far as I have heard FRx is not included with NAV 2009 and is an additional module that needs to be purchased. FRx is purely a financial reporting tool and is limited to a certain number of filters, and you cannot do any kind of current vs. historical analysis with FRx. Microsoft also announced that they are going to stop supporting FRx and are currently just keeping it as an add-on module to NAV 2009.

Jet Reports Historic Posts HI
I am going to Redmond in Sept to meet Mr. Softy. I will ask whats up. But in general MS is pushing the Business Analytics granual.
Big picture - I have seen/used/liked and cursed alot of reporting tools - Jet Reports is bar none - the best!! We are currently using Jet Reports to create and load custom reports to our Sharepoint/Intranet site. Sharepoint then email alerts the authorized users of the report. The user clicks on the email and the report opens up - either in a browser (with excel functionality) or directly in excel. The key is that the users can get their reports from anywhere with a browser.
The bigger picture - I am just an Accountant - Director of Analysis and Budget - It is simple to setup and maintain. IS did give me a Sharepoint site, but it has been my build/maintenance from there.
GO JET!!!!!
