Dear Designers!!
I have Microsoft Office 10 beta installed on my machine but I have noted this problem. I installed Jet Reports on the same machine and I configured Jet correctly( am sure about this) and given the license file to Jet Report as required but to my surprise is that Jet Report Designer is not active when I open Excel. Can this be a compatibility issue or what becasue I had used the same Jet Report installation file on the same machine but I was using Microsoft Office 7 and it was working correctly.
Please help me actually am thinking of reverting back to Office 7.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi Vikitala,
Our official stance for new versions of Excel is that we will release a compatible version of Jet Reports within 90 days of the official release of Excel. Beta versions of Microsoft Office can often contain issues that cause incompatibilities, and we can make no guarantees about Jet Reports working correctly in these versions. I should also add that since you are still using Jet Reports v7, you are a version behind since Jet Reports 2009 is the current version. If you wish to beta test new versions of Excel, you should also be on the newest build of Jet Reports, although this is still no guarantee of compatibility.
Kind regards,

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi Hughes,
I am just wondering if in your reply to Vikitala you are making a distinction between 'version' and 'build' - 'version' being what is released to the public on a commercial scale, and 'build' being a development work-in-progress…
If this is the case, do we as testers have access to the repository of builds (assuming these are nightly builds)???? Can we FTP them from a site somewhere?

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi datalore,
So the short answer is no, we do not make nightly builds that we make public to anyone, including beta testers. There is currently not a Jet Reports beta program going on, so there are also not beta builds going out right now.
Given the propensity of Office betas to have strange bugs that break Jet Reports, we do not do a lot of testing on Office beta builds before RTM. Microsoft generally makes an effort to keep the Office COM API backwards compatible, so by the final released version of Office, it usually works with Jet Reports with no issues or only minor ones. It does us no good to make changes to our code to be compatible with a beta build of Office that may be unnecessary or even counter productive by the final release.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Does this include the latest press release of the Jet Reports 2010 Beta release? Hopefully the Beta of Jet Reports 2010 will run on the 64bit version of Office 2010 RTM.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi Wayne,
Office 2010 64-bit compatibility is in the works for Jet Reports 2010. That feature is not in the current beta version but it will be soon, so I'd definitely sign up for the beta if that's what you're waiting for.

Hughes
