I am very new to Jet. I have the reports ready and I have scheduled them and all seems to be working. Except that if I'm not logged into Terminal Services, the reports are not run and/or emailed. I have read some older posts and maybe I know the issue. Do I need to have a dummy (lack of a better term) account set up in outlook that is always running on the terminal services server in order to have the reports emailed at all hours of the day and night? I can't leave myself logged on because we have a timeout feature. If I haven't explained my issue well enough, just let me know. And I am running Jet 9, NAV 2009 sp1, and outlook 2007. All on terminal services.
Thanks
Jay

Jet Reports Historic Posts In my experience with Jet Scheduler, you have to have Outlook open in order for the e-mails to be sent. If you don't have outlook open, it will create your e-mails and put them in the drafts or output folder, but they still will not be sent unless outlook is up and running.
Solution #1: Yes, you should be able to create another e-mail address for outlook and leave outlook up and running on the Terminal Server, however that will depend on how the terminal server is set up. When you're "timed-out" of the terminal server, does it close any programs you have open too, or do those stay active? If it closes your programs, then that wouldn't allow you to leave outlook open whether you use your normal accoutn, or a "dummy" e-mail account. If the terminal server keeps your programs open and running, then you can just close your connection with the terminal server and leave the "dummy" e-mail account and outlook up and running. Definetly worth a try.
Solution #2: Move your jet scheduler and reports to a regular client computer that you can leave outlook up and running. This is what we do at our company. We have over 100 jet reports that are scheduled through Jet Scheduler. Basically, we've set up a client computer to just be used for Jet Reports and it is up and running, 24/7.
Possible Solution #3: Depending on your company's netork, you might be to avoid e-mailing the reports all together. If your finished reports are going to employees within your company, and you all have access to a shared network, you can have jet scheduler place the output folder in a location that others can access the report. This would get rid of the need to have outlook up and running. However, if your reports go to people that don't have access to that network, they wouldn't be able to find the file.
Let me know if any of these work for you.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Thanks for the ideas. While the third option makes the most sense to us, in my environment, it won't work. Ie if I don't email them the report, they won't look at it (may not anyway). I will leave my computer up tonight to see if it just logs me off but keeps running. If I get my email, then I will know my answer. If not, try, try again…
