I cannot find anywhere the answer to my question so forgive me if it has already been answered.
We use NAV 2009 R2 RTC but our server is hosted off site. No clients have the NAV classic client installed.
We tried Jet Express (see our post here http://expresssupport.jetreports.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=25) but this will not work in our environment as the classic client needs to be installed on each machine.
We cannot install the Classic client as it is impossible to connect remotely due to the classic client requiring domain authentication.
So, is there any version of Jet Reports that will work in our environment?
Thanks

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi Red,
Currently there is no version of Jet that will work in your environment. I believe in the Nav v7 time frame that all versions of Jet should be able to do this, but currently the only way Jet can connect to a Nav database is through C/Front which utilizes the Nav classic client and requires direct access to the Nav server. I should note that both Jet Express and Jet Essentials use the same technology to access Nav. If you can't connect with one, you won't be able to connect with the other either.
The question of domain authentication is interesting to me because I believe the RTC also requires domain authentication, even if it is hosted off site. How are you able to connect to your hosted RTC if you have no path into the domain? Are you using a VPN to connect to the domain? I believe you can use the classic client with domain authentication (and C/Front and thus the current version of Jet) over a VPN.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi Hughes,
We only have 5 - 10 users per office so this works us for just fine.
Converting the reports to RTC was a pain though!
Have a read here:

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi Red,
Aaah I see. So there is a server on the client end acting as an active directory client and the client itself is a member of the domain through that server and thus the RTC can authenticate the user as a member of the domain. In this case it does seem to me that unfortunately it would be impossible to use Jet in this environment since you have no direct access to the NAV server (the RTC connects to the NAV web services, not to the NAV server directly). You could make Jet work if you set up a VPN that would allow the client to connect to the NAV server directly, but I believe otherwise it is not currently possible. Stay tuned! When Nav v7 comes out this should be possible.
