Hi,
I wanted to learn to write reports in JetReports and wanted to gauge how long it takes to become decent at writing them. I am not a programmer or a database developer, but have some limited knowledge of VBA and SQL. I have worked with one reporting tool in the past but only to a limited amount. With this limited description, could anybody help me with gauging how easy or hard it will be to learn JetReports :-)

I think generally the best indicator for how good people will be at writing Jet reports comes down to 2 things: your aptitude with Excel functions and your knowledge of the database you're reporting against. Those represent the 2 areas that are difficult for people when writing Jet Reports. If you are really good with Excel functions, you will probably be able to get the technical side of writing reports. That means you can write the correct functions to pull whatever kind of data you need in your report and get it in the correct format. That only gets you part way though. You have to know what tables in your database hold the data you want and how that data is stored and how different tables relate to each other. If you are good in both those areas, you should be able to pick up Jet Reports fairly quickly. Most people are good in one or the other and have to do some learning. I hope that helps.
