Hi,
I downloaded the sales dashboard from JetReports but noticed the table wasn't bringing back the customer name where there wasn't a sales person set on the customer card.
We sorted that by setting up a sales person with an empty name as a temporary measure.
How I think it should work though is for the sales person to be taken from the shipment sales person code, as we have set this at quote or sales stage.
Apart from having to remove ,"IncludeDuplicates=","True" from the Table field I'm really having trouble getting the linkfield to work.
I replaced ∞||"13 Salesperson/Purchaser","1 Code","=29 Salesperson Code","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","",""
with ∞||"6 Document No.","=110 Sales Shipment Header","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","",""
And
replaced LinkField([13 Salesperson/Purchaser],[2 Name])
with LinkField([110 Sales Shipment Header],[43 Salesperson Code])
but just get an error. As I'm new to JetReports and linkfield I'm hoping someone can nudge me in the right direction.
Just in case anyone asks I've put the fields below.
Regards Chris

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi Chris,
So if a Jet function is giving you a #VALUE, you should select the cell and then go to the Jet ribbon and click the Debug button. It will usually give you a message indicating what is causing the #VALUE. In this case, it looks like you messed up the link. Typing out the link yourself like this is usually a bad idea. Also, posting the link strings here isn't super helpful. It's much better to use NL(Link) formulas like the ones in the sample report and post those on the forum.
So you said you replaced ∞||"13 Salesperson/Purchaser","1 Code","=29 Salesperson Code","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","" with ∞||"6 Document No.","=110 Sales Shipment Header","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","". I can see that you did this wrong because your replacement doesn't have a table defined. Without the table, the Jet function doesn't know what table you are trying to link to. The original link was to the Salesperson/Purchaser table, but I'm not sure where your link is supposed to go.
If you use the Jfx (Jet -> Jfx), it will let you create an NL(Link) function much more easily which will produce the correct link string rather than typing it in and modifying it manually. The same can by said of the LinkFields. It's much easier to read and write an NL(LinkField) function than the actual text it produces.
Does this help?

Hughes
