Hi,
does the customer need a NAV 2009 database or is a technical update to NAV 2009 sufficient?

  The customer needs to be running Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 executables. They can be running any version of the business objects (database).

  Hello pxttyh,
  
  There are no Jet Business Objects (.fob) that need to be imported to configure a Data Source for "Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 or earlier".
  Jet Business Objects (.fob) are only needed for a "Dynamics NAV 2013 and later (Web Services)" Data Source.
  You simply need to have the Dynamics NAV Classic Client installed (2009 or higher) along with its matching C/FRONT and have the 1800 C/FRONT granule in your NAV license.
