Hello, I have just installed Jet Expres and the Report Player, but when I try to run the report player I recieve the following error:
System.ArgumentEException: The directory name \\JSB\RedirectedFolders\smcdaid\My Documents\My Report\Reports is invalid.
I would really appreciate it if you would beable to tell me if I have done something or if there is a known problem and how to repair it.
Many thanks

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hello -
One of the few requirement of the Report Player is that it must be installed on the local system and that the reports themselves be saved in the specific folder under the local "My Documents" folder.
It appears that your system has the "My Documents" redirected to a network drive and that the Report Player is unable to access that location.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Is there a work-around for this issue? I have the same problem and our network profiles have the My Documents folder for all users redirected to a network share for security and backup purposes. This redirection is not something that can be changed. How do I make the report player work or configure it to look in another location?

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hello -
Unfortunately, there is no workaround for this requirement.

Jet Reports Historic Posts You do, of course, always have the option of copying the report files to any location you would like and access them directly using Excel instead of the Report Player.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi there
Just to confirm there is no way to point the report player at a network location?
If so this seems like it would have a very limited use seeing most organisations would want their financial reports stored in a central location.
Cheers,

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hello Derek -
You are correct. The Report Player is designed as a client install only. As mentioned, the report files themselves can be copied and accessed by Excel from anywhere.
