Have a report created on a desktop pc, has a large number of sheets included in the report.
Report works fine on the desktop, and can be opened by another desktop.
The manager uses a laptop and cannot open the report - it tries to load up and just hangs, waits for 5-10 minutes but does not load so just abandons. He has bought a new laptop so has more memory than the desktops, and is using a wired connection to the local network (same as desktops). Any suggestions as to why the report won't load on his machine?

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi Derek -
Right off hand, I do not know of any reason for this.
If you have an IT department, they may be able to run some diagnostic to see what Excel is doing and the issue it is having.
Things to look at:
* Are all systems running the same version of Excel?
* Are all systems the same "bit-level"? (32-bit or 64-bit)
I hope that helps.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi HPDeskJet,
Thanks for the response.
The laptop is running 64-bit Windows 7, the desktop are on a 32-bit os - I am not sure what (if any) effect this would have?
Both the machines are running Excel 2007 - however they tend to save the files in 2003 format to ensure compatible with all machines in use. I am going to try saving the file in 'native' 2007 format to see if this has any difference in performance.
I will let you know outcome. -
