Using the CRONUS demo company I insert a new GL function with 'what' set to balance, however I'm unable to see any accounts outside the range 1000..5590
I had thought this to be because all accounts listed were of type 'balance', however accounts 5600..5999 are of this type and are not listed.
If I manaually type in any account outside of the range the report works fine, they just aren't listed.
Is this by design? I've shown my customer that he can still manually enter the account numbers, but understandably he just wants to use the selection box

The list of accounts is simply a sampling of the data from the database. If you have thousands of G/L accounts, you will only see some of them listed. You can change the number of values you see displayed by updating the settings in your Application Settings window. I copied the settings you can adjust from the Jet Express Help and pasted it below. Just remember that increasing the numbers can increase the amount of time it takes to load the data.
Lookup Sample Value Limit
The maximum number of sample values that will be retrieved when performing a lookup.
Lookup Record Scan Limit
The maximum number of records that will be scanned in order to retrieve sample values when performing a lookup.
