This is Kiran From Malaysia. I'm Just Curios to know some relevant facts regarding Jet Reports Because i'm new to this field.
Basicly, in term of Jet Reports, does it involves the usage of "c" or "c++" coding's.? Is there any special related codes need to be add during the process of the report.
Secondly i would like to know, how long will it take for a person to understand and capable to create a report by using Jet Report.?
Thirdly, i'm not that knowledgeable in Navision, especially in the "GL" field, So does it plays a major effect for myslef in Jet Report.?

Thank you for your questions.
First, Jet Reports does not require leaning any programming language. Jet Reports simply adds 4 new functions to Excel. The NL(), NF(), GL(), and NP(). It is through the use of these 4 functions that we do all of the reports.
For example, let take an example. I want a list of customers with Customer Number, Name, City, and Balance. So, I would create a report as follows.Cell D6 =NL("Rows","Customer") Cell E6 =NF(D6,"Customer Number") Cell F6 =NF(D6,"Name") Cell G6 =NF(D6,"City") Cell H6 =NF(D6,"Balance")This would give me the report that I'm looking for. Everything else is simply Excel. If I wanted to add totals, then I would use an Excel function. If I needed to format the report, then I would use Excel formating. Because so much of using Jet Reports involves understand both Excel and your database, it's hard to say how long it takes to be skilled in using Jet Reports. I've had users look at a couple reports and read a little in the manual and in a couple of hours, they are creating some complex reports.
Jet Reports comes with some additional features like the Jet Designer, which allows you to browse your database structure, and the Jet Wizard, which steps you through the creatation of reports, or the Insert Jet Function Wizard, which can help you create your Jet Reports formulas.
