Hi,
Is there anybody out there, who can explain to me, why some excel-files are really big ?
Some of my Jetreports are creating Excel-Files upto 100 MB, without really much data, rows or sheets… :o
After "paste©" in a new blank Excel-Sheet, the size of the new file is much smaller.
Even without any formatting, it is still the same
Any idea?
(Sorry for my English  )
Thx

Jet Reports Historic Posts I noticed on the support site that the latest Jet Reports 2009 build 9338 release has some kind of fix for large file sizes
Fixed issue where file size could become very large when running reports with +Lock or +Values.
Might be worth looking at. -
Jet Reports Historic Posts Thanks for your comment.
But i can't use Jet9. because the database-version is to old.
I'm a step further now:
I guess the main problem are the "very hidden Excel sheets", which are built by Excel and/or Jetreports.
If i change the property of these sheets to "visible" and delete all these sheets, the size is much smaller.
Is there a option in Excel or Jetreports, to avoid the saving of these "very hidden sheets"?
Thx

Jet Reports Historic Posts jetsetter,
You should not delete the very hidden worksheets unless you don't want the jet reports formulas anymore. The are created when you use +Values or +Lock in the report. This is where Jet Reports "Hides" the formulas.
Also, are you sure that you can't use Jet Reports 2009? Are you on an old database or an old version of the Navision Software. There is a difference. If you go to (in Navision) Help >> About, you will see a version number, something like "3.70 (5.0)". As long as the number in the () is 4.01 or greater, you can use Jet Reports 2009. -
Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi, Chuck!
Thanks for your comment.
Yes, I can not use Jet9.
I know, that i should not delete the very hidden worksheets, if i want to start the report again.
But in this case, i want to save the file as "file2" for a second person, who only wants to see the data.
So i don't need the very hidden worksheets in "file2".
Is there a possibility to delete them?
btw: Good luck to everyone in 2010 !

Jet Reports Historic Posts Jetsetter,
You can use Jet v9 with all prior object versions of NAV. You cannot use Jet v9 with execuatbles older then NAV 4.0 SP1. Contact your local NAV Partner and ask them for a quote to do an executables upgrade only. It shouldn't take them very long to do the upgrade and if you are current on your renewal fees with MS the only fees you should incur is your local Partner's hourly rate.
