Excel 2007 Jet 9.1.9317.1 Nav SQL 4
In the past (prior to upgrade to current Jet) one of my power users has been in the habit of using Jet scheduler to run one workbook (using run now) while they work on another and while there was some delay it wasn't particularly an issue He just came to me and said that this has brought his machime to stand still ( Xp Pro 32 bit 4GB memory dual quad cores) .
Question is this a function/result of using the 2007 cacheing in the new version If so is there a work around
I suggested that since it appeared that scheduler was "hijacking" the open copy of excel he try setting job to run a few minutes in future - exiting excel and restarting it. Since I am only going by what I saw on his task manager ( one excel but both worksheets) I may be misreading what is occuring but direction / comment appreciated

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi vanjump,
AutoPilot in Jet Reports 2009 should always open up a new instance of Excel to process a scheduled task just like it did in v7. If you open Task Manager and go to the list of Processes and sort them by Image Name, you should see an extra EXCEL.EXE process being used by AutoPilot.
Excel 2007 has a setting that allows you to specify how many processors Excel is allowed to utilize when it is calculating. If you go to the Excel Options to Advanced and then to the Formulas section, you should see a section "Enable Multi-threaded Calculation" which allows you to enable this and also to limit the number of calculation threads. You may want to ask your user to either disable multi-threaded calculation or limit Excel to only 1 or 2 threads so that it leaves more of his processor free. Does that help?
