We run currently Navision 4 Sql.
I have a user that wants to move to Windows 7 however it is my understanding from Microsoft that the Nav4 client does not work in Windows7 and Jet needs the Nav4 client to talk effieciently with the database
Has anyone tried installing the Nav4 client on a virtual XP in this environment with Jet/Excel on the Windows 7 partition? Does it work ?
Any other suggestions for using Jet with Nav 4 on a Windows 7 platform ? ( move to Nav 5 will occur but its not a next week sort of thing)

Jet Reports Historic Posts I am currently using Windows 7 64 bit and the earliest version of Nav I could install was 5.0 SP1. We have had at least one Jet user use the XP virtual machine and Jet Reports. After we helped them set it up they were able to use it without any problems. The XP virtual machine is a little different than other virtual machines. For example, you could install the Nav client on the VM and then open it on the Windows 7 desktop. However, we could not get Jet Reports to connect when it was used this way. As far as we know the user has to work in the VM to be able to use Jet properly.
