Is it possible to write a report joining the Fixed Asset and FA Ledger Entry tables, and then sum the Amount field in the FA Leger Entry table? The fields to join would be FA No. in the FA Ledger Entry table and No. field in Fixed Asset table. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are using Jet 2011, this is actually really easy using the new Table Builder tool. You just add the Fixed Asset table and then add the FA Ledger Entry table under it. Then with the FA Ledger Entry selected you go to the Sum Fields section and add the Amount field as a sum. Of course you probably also want to add some fields from the Fixed Asset table like the No. field. Does this work for you?
