Hi,
I have designed a report with Auto+Hide+Values in Cell A1. After creating the report I have saved it in the report mode. When I switch to "Simulate Viewer Mode" everything works fine. When my colleague opens the report (she is a viewer) the refresh button is grey so she cannot update the report. Have I forgotten something in my report or is there something wrong with her settings?
Can anyone help?

Jet Reports Historic Posts Official comment Hi,
From your picture it seems that the "Report" menu is active… If you click it the report doesn't run?

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi,
You can ckeck if everything is ok with your colleagues settings - go to Data Source Settings an check if on the bottom of the screen it sais "You are licensed as a Viewer".

Jet Reports Historic Posts When she checks it there comes up a message saying "You are licensed on this data source as a report viewer". So this looks fine.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Did you run the report and save it in report mode before giving it to your viewer? You say the Refresh button is disabled. Are all the ribbon buttons grayed out? What buttons are not disabled for your viewer currently?

Jet Reports Historic Posts Yes, I ran the report and saved it in report mode. I have attached a screenshot of the JetReports toolbar of my viewer.

Only "Unlock" is not grayed out.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi Elena,
oh, thanks so much for that remark. By clicking on the "Report" button it works. I thought a viewer needs to use the "Refresh" button and that was grayed out. Sorry, this is the first report I created for a viewer so I am still learning :-)
So, what is the "Refresh" button for? Is it only for Designers?

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi Tanja,
From your screen shot I can tell you are using an older version of Jet Reports (either v7 or maybe 2009). In newer versions of Jet, the Refresh button is available for Viewers. Basically when you first open the report file, the Report button works exactly the same as the Refresh button. Once you have run the report once, if you click Report to run it again without closing the file, it will used cached values from the last run, whereas if you use Refresh it will get new values from the database. However, if you close the report all the cached data goes away so next time you open it and run it Refresh and Report will work the same way again. Does that answer the question?

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi Hughes,
Yes, you are right. We are using an older version of JetReports because we are using a quite old version of Navision.
And yes, that answers my question completely. Thanks very much for your help!
Best regards,
Tanja
